A. Subject: Evaluation of Cardio protective Activity of Rudraksha in Experimental Rats.

Conclusion: "The present study showed that pretreatment of rats with extract of Elaeocarpus Ganitrus (EGM) offers significant protection against Myocardial Oxidative Stress Induced injury."

B. Subject: Antidiabetic Activity Evalution of Rudraksha Powder in Experimental Animals.

Conclusion: "Current study indicated a significant lowering of Blood Sugar level with treatment of Rudraksha powder (Batch No,013CS) at dose levels 500 & 1000 mg/kg of body weight in Streptozotocin induced Diabetes in Wistar rats. Hence Rudraksha might help in preventing Diabetic complications and serve as a good adjuvant in the present armamentarium of Anti-Diabetic drugs."

C. Subject: Evaluation of Antihypertensive Activity of Rudraksha in experimental rats.

Conclusion: "The Aqueous Extract of Elaeocarpus Ganitrus (Rudraksha) powder significantly decreased the elevated blood pressure in dise dependent manner. Cappopril at the dose of 1 mg/kg showed the significant decrease in the elevated blood pressure."

D. Subject: Evaluation of Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Rudraksha in experimental Rats.

Conclusion: "The over all results of the present study indicates that, under the given experimental conditions Methanolic Extract of Rudraksha has Anti- Inflammatory Activity, however detailed Investigation is required to determine the exact mechanism responsible for Anti-Inflammatory Activity."

E. Subject: Acute Toxicity study of Rudraksha powder in mice.

Conclusion: "In Acute Toxicity study of Rudraksha powder in mice, no mortality has been observed in any of the groups treated with Rudraksha powder at dose levels 500mg/kg, 1000mg/kg, 2000mg/kg, 4000mg/kg and 6000mg/kg of body weight."

F. Subject: Evaluation of No tropic Activity (Memory enhancement) of Rudraksha and Mercury in Experimental mice.

Conclusion: Pretreatment with Rudraksha extract (400mg/kg) p.o. significantly reduced the time required for mice to reach the platform comparable to well known nootropic drug Piracetam (300gm/kg) p.o. It improved basal as well as scopolamine-impaired performance with respect to acquisition and retention of memory in spatial memory test. It also significantly improved basal and scopolamine-impaired performance in all four quadrants (working memory test). "Therefore Rudra-extract claims to possess Nootropic Activity."
